England Cricket has appointed Harry Brook as the new captain across all formats following poor performances in ICC tournaments. The team is set to host Zimbabwe for a one-off Test match at Trent Bridge Cricket Ground on May 22, followed by three ODIs and T20Is against the West Indies, with the ODI series beginning on May 29 at Edgbaston.Five England players selected for both T20 and ODI squads were originally slated to play in the Indian Premier League 2025, which starts on May 17. Jos Buttler (Gujarat Titans), Jofra Archer (Rajasthan Royals), Will Jacks (Mumbai Indians), and Jacob Bethell (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) are included in both squads.Phil Salt from Royal Challengers Bengaluru will only participate in the T20 series starting June 6, with potential availability depending on the IPL final scheduled for June 3.Hampshire all-rounder Liam Dawson makes his return to the T20I squad for the first time since September 2022, bringing his experience of 11 T20 caps.
Nottinghamshire’s Luke Wood rejoins the T20 setup after his last appearance in September 2023.
