Murder investigation launched after man dies in Newark street

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died in a street in Newark.

Emergency services were called to Lombard Street following reports of a “medical emergency” involving a man in a car, according to Nottinghamshire Police.

The force said the incident is being treated as a murder and has urged witnesses to come forward with any information.

Ch Insp Ruby Burrow said: “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time, and they will be supported by our specially trained officers.
