India’s emphatic victory over England at Edgbaston has drawn praise from cricketing great and former Team India captain Virat Kohli, who lauded the team’s fearless attitude and relentless pressure on the hosts. “Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubhman with the bat and in the field and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch,” Kohli wrote on X.The standout performance came from Akash Deep, who took 10 wickets in the match, a career-best feat, helping India crush England by 336 runs and level the series 1-1. Mohammed Siraj also chipped in with a seven-wicket match haul, including six scalps in the first innings. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. The 25-year-old became the first player in Test history to score both 250 and 150-plus runs in the same match, blasting a magnificent 269 in the first innings and following it up with a commanding 161 off 162 balls in the second.

    Poll

Do you think Shubman Gill’s captaincy will lead India to a series win?

Gill’s leadership was equally impressive; in just his second Test as captain, he took the winning catch to seal the victory.India posted massive totals of 587 and 427-6 declared, thanks to contributions from Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul. England fought back with spirited centuries from James Smith and Harry Brook but ultimately couldn’t match India’s dominance. The series is now level at 1-1 as attention shifts to the third Test at the iconic Lord’s, starting Thursday, where India will aim to build on this momentum and push for a series lead.
