Homes evacuated as crews called to ‘major fire’ near Bromsgrove

Homes have been evacuated as the emergency services deal with a “major fire” in Worcestershire.

Police and firefighters were called to the field blaze near Staple Hill in Marlbrook, near Bromsgrove, on Saturday evening.

Staple Flat Road was closed between Old Birmingham Street and Linehouse Lane while the emergency services deal with the incident.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We are advising the public to please avoid the area at this time and local residents close doors and windows.”
