A suspicious object has been found in the Golf Terrace area of Magherafelt, County Londonderry.
Police said they were at the scene of the security alert and a number of homes have been evacuated.
A road closure is in place from the roundabout at the junctions of Ballyronan Road and Meadowbank Road.
The public has been asked to avoid the area.
