GoogleEmergency services have been working at the scene of a serious crash which has closed a section of the M23.
Police said the crash happened near Merstham, in Surrey, at about 06:30 BST.
The road has been closed northbound between junction eight for the M25, and the A237 at Coulsden, and is expected to be closed for “several hours”, National Highways added.
A spokesperson said investigation works would be required by the police and that “no re-opening time is currently available”.
National Highways said South East Coast Ambulance Service was also at the scene.
Traffic is being diverted via alternative routes.
