A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a woman in north London months after allegedly raping and violently assaulting another.
Simon Levy, 40, from Tottenham, is accused of killing Sheryl Wilkins, a 39-year-old sex worker whose body was found in a car park last month.
Ms Wilkins’s cause of death has not yet been established, the Old Bailey heard. Mr Levy was remanded in custody and is due for another hearing at the same court on 26 November, with a trial date provisionally set for next June.
The surviving woman, who as a victim of sexual assault has an automatic right to anonymity, was attacked in Haringey in January.
Mr Levy is charged with causing the sex worker grievous bodily harm with intent, non-fatal strangulation and two counts of rape.
He appeared by video-link from Belmarsh Prison wearing a grey tracksuit and dark glasses.
