Medicine and pageantry came together in Hyderabad once again as AIG Hospitals hosted the Miss World delegation led by the organisation’s chairperson Julia Morley on Sunday. The visiting team toured the hospital’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Innovation along with other major units, before engaging in a free-wheeling conversation with AIG Hospitals chairman D. Nageshwar Reddy, Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangsri and philanthropist Sudha Reddy.
The delegation included Miss World 2025 representatives from the Caribbean, Namibia, Oceania, the Americas, Europe and Asia, accompanied by Miss India World Nandini Gupta and Femina Miss India 2024 Nikita Porwal.
The interaction bridged the worlds of healthcare and global pageantry, underlining compassion, resilience and service as shared values. “For many, including myself, pageants were often seen only as glamour. But what I learnt today is that they are deeply rooted in compassion and purpose,” said Dr. Nageshwar Reddy.
Ms.Morley, who has led the Miss World Organisation for decades, described compassion as the invisible crown that defines the platform. She spoke of global initiatives that extended healthcare and education to less privileged children.
Ms. Suchata reflected on her journey since being crowned earlier this year. She described her role as one of building bridges between diverse communities. “From breast cancer patients to children, I see my work as connecting people through love, knowledge and hope,” she said.
Ms. Reddy recalled her decision to step away from a medical school to focus on charitable work. “Our life is meaningless if we are not useful to at least one single person,” she said.
