Police activity has been reported across Nottingham as officers investigate a “serious incident”.

On Wednesday Nottinghamshire Police said a cordon was in place in Westdale Lane East, in Carlton, the site of the serious incident.

A scene was also present in Woodborough Road in Mapperley, with a third cordon around a white Toyota Corolla taxi in Edwards Lane, outside Oxclose Lane Police Station, in Bestwood.

The force told the BBC it is thought these scenes are linked.

Police added there was no threat to the wider public.

A small cordon remains in place around a white taxi in Edwards Lane, just outside Oxclose Lane police station.

The taxi, according to the signage, is licensed by Sheffield City Council.

On the nearby pavement, scissors and police handcuffs can be seen on the ground.

An officer is standing at the cordon, although it remains relatively quiet in the area.
