Police have confirmed that a woman in her 20s from the Faversham area of Kent has died on Christmas Eve following a crash on the M2.
The London-bound carriageway was shut between junctions five (for Maidstone) and four (for Gillingham) after a black Volkswagen T-Roc collided with the central reservation barrier before overturning.
Kent Police said officers were called at 12:50 GMT on Christmas Eve to the “serious collision” near the Medway services.
The force is now appealing for witnesses, including motorists with dashcam footage, to come forward.
A police spokesperson said there were no passengers in the car and no other vehicles were involved.
A diversion is in place using the A249, M20 and A228.
