A major road has been closed after a serious incident involving a car and a cyclist.
Avon and Somerset Police said the car left the scene of the crash, which happened on North Street in Bedminster, Bristol, at about 12:30 GMT.
“One person has been arrested in connection with the incident has been taken into police custody,” a force spokesperson said.
The road remains shut at the junctions with King William Street, Sion Road, Braunton Road, Henburn Road and Fairfield Road.
“We were called just after 12.30pm following report of a collision involving a cyclist and a car,” police said in a statement.
“The car left the scene before police arrival and enquiries were carried out to locate this vehicle.”
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or has doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage has been asked to contact police.
