Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue ServiceTwo people were helped to safety after a car went through an outside wall at a supermarket in Nottinghamshire.
Crews from Stapleford and Ilkeston responded to calls about people trapped in a crashed vehicle at Iceland, Derby Road, Stapleford, shortly before 11:00 GMT on Sunday.
The fire service said it found a car had gone through a wall in the car park and come to rest against another vehicle on a lower level.
The car occupants, who sustained minor injuries, were helped out by members of the public and then firefighters and police made the area safe.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service“Initial reports suggested two people were trapped in one vehicle, which was resting over a wall,” a Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
“Both occupants of the vehicle were freed by passers-by before arrival of the fire service and walked away with minor injuries.
“Firefighters working with Nottinghamshire Police, recovery and staff from Iceland made the vehicle safe and have taped off the area.”
The supermarket reopened shortly afterwards but some access to the car park is now limited, the fire service added.
