An assault has been reported to police after several people blocked the entrance to an army barracks set to house asylum seekers.
Police responded to reports of people preventing workers at Crowborough Training Camp from leaving the site on Tuesday night.
An investigation has been launched into a report that a person was assaulted and threatened with violence, Sussex Police said.
Home Office plans to temporarily house 540 male asylum seekers at the military site have sparked local protests in recent weeks and have been at the centre of public and political meetings.
Police have issued a dispersal order, which grants officers temporary powers to order people to leave an area, for roads surrounding the barracks.
The order expires at 21:15 GMT on Wednesday.
“We will take robust action against anyone involved in criminality and anti-social behaviour,” a police spokesperson said.
