BENGALURU: The cold-blooded murder of a 45-year-old man, allegedly by his wife, her nephew and the couple’s 17-year-old daughter, over a domestic row has come to light after a month.The accused, after killing him, took the body to a graveyard in Kolar and burnt it in the wee hours of the day. The deceased is 45-year-old Babu, a resident of Hope Farm near Whitefield. His murder came to light after his younger daughter, who was disturbed after the incident, told her uncle what had happened. Following this, Kadugodi police arrested Babu’s wife Munirathnamma, her 22-year-old nephew Ramamurthy, and the elder daughter.Police said Babu had become an alcoholic and was torturing his wife. He was also not on good terms with Ramumurthy, who stayed with the family. On June 26, Babu fought with Munirathnamma and assaulted her. An enraged Ramamurthy allegedly attacked Babu with a machete. Munirathnamma and her elder daughter joined Ramamurthy and attacked Babu with a ragi ball stick.After Babu’s death, the trio cleaned the floor and walls of the house and removed bloodstains from Babu’s body, police said. They called an ambulance and took the body to a graveyard in a village in Kolar around 3am. They informed the graveyard in-charge that Babu had died in an accident, and burnt the body. They disposed of the weapons in a river.After returning to their rented house in Kadugodi, Munirathnamma informed the owner that they were vacating the residence as she had got work in another locality. The owner, who didn’t know about the murder, got the house cleaned and painted it for another tenant. However, Babu’s younger daughter was disturbed by the murder and eventually spilled the beans to her uncle, who alerted police.
