London Fire BrigadeAbout 150 firefighters tackled a large fire at an industrial estate in south-east London.
The blaze broke out at a warehouse in a scrap yard on Maypole Crescent in Erith shortly before 23:00 BST on Friday.
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said three diggers and several vehicles were also alight, but there were no reports of any injuries.
The blaze, the cause of which is under investigation, had been brought under control by 06:52.
Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the volume of smoke in the area.
Twenty-five fire engines were sent to the scene, along with two 32-metre turntable ladders, which were used to provide an aerial view and deliver water from above, an LFB spokesperson said.
London Fire BrigadeOne of the brigade’s fire boats was also deployed to assist firefighting from the River Thames. The vessel can pump 2,500 litres of water per minute using its remote-operated monitors.
Crews from Bexley, Erith, Plumstead, East Greenwich, Sidcup and other nearby stations responded after the first emergency call was received at 22:47.
