The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) congratulated MS Dhoni, India’s World Cup-winning captain, on his induction into the ICC Hall of Fame during a ceremony in London on Monday. Dhoni becomes the 11th Indian cricketer to join this prestigious group.The ICC Hall of Fame honours cricket legends who have made significant contributions to the sport’s rich history. MS Dhoni remains the only captain to have won all three major ICC white-ball trophies. Known for his calm leadership, Dhoni turned pressure into opportunity and aspirations into achievements.As a player, Dhoni revolutionised the role of the ODI finisher. His unbeaten 183* against Sri Lanka in 2005 remains the highest individual score by a wicketkeeper in ODIs. With over 10,000 ODI runs at an impressive average of 50.57, his batting legacy is profound and lasting.Behind the stumps, Dhoni was exceptional, redefining wicketkeeping in limited-overs cricket with his lightning-fast stumpings and sharp anticipation. Along with MS Dhoni, Hashim Amla, Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, Daniel Vettori, Sana Mir and Sarah Taylor were inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
