The Isle of Wight has been hit by unexpected flash flooding following heavy rainfall.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said it received multiple calls from across the island, especially in Ryde and Cowes, regarding flooded homes from 18:15 BST.
Images from East Cowes showed large amounts of water in the roads and residents in Cowes could be seen putting sandbags outside their properties.
The fire service said it had given advice to those residents whose homes have been affected.
The fire service also advised drivers not to try to travel through the flood water, and to instead turn back and find an alternative route.
At 10:30 the Environment Agency had warned that surface water flooding caused by heavy, thundery showers was possible for the South of England, but not expected.
