NEW DELHI: India batter Pratika Rawal has been fined 10 percent of her match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the first ODI against England, following two instances of avoidable physical contact with opposition players.The 21-year-old opener was found guilty of a Level 1 offence under Article 2.12, which deals with “inappropriate physical contact with a player, umpire, match referee or any other person during an international match.”Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. A similar incident followed in the very next over, when Rawal appeared to shoulder bump Sophie Ecclestone while walking back to the pavilion after being dismissed.

In addition to the fine, one demerit point has been added to Rawal’s disciplinary record. It was her first offence within a 24-month period.
Meanwhile, the England team was fined five percent of their match fee for a slow over rate, found to be one over short after time allowances were taken into account.
