Karisma Kapur’s ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12. As per reports, he passed away while playing polo as he had a heart attack after he swallowed a bee. While the family was mourning his death, Karisma was also in Delhi to attend his funeral, prayer meet with her children Samaira and Kiaan. Karisma and Sunjay’s divorce was finalised in 2016. After divorce from Karisma, Sunjay got married to Priya Sachdev. Now days after his death, the Sunjay’s mother Rani Kapur has made some shocking claims around his death. Just after Sunjay’s death, his company Sona Comstar appointed a new chairman Jeffrey Mark Overly. As per News18, Rani Kapur said that she reportedly wrote to Sona Comstar and asked them to postpone the annual general meeting. She was quoted saying, “On June 12, my son Mr. Sunjay Kapur tragically passed away under highly suspicious and unexplained circumstances in the United Kingdom. Despite all attempts, I am not able to receive answers about my son’s death. Despite me seeking information, I have been unable to receive any relevant answers and documents explaining the incident and have been confined to the knowledge and version set out by the media. While we’re in mourning, some people trying to usurp family legacy.”Rani added that she did not give consent for anyone to be a part of the board of Sona Group Of Companies. She claimed that she has been denied access to all his accounts and now is left within the mercy of others to survive. She also said that she was made to sign some documents even when she was mourning the loss of her son.She said, “During the aforesaid period of grieving, I was approached multiple times and compelled to sign various documents without explanation or even having time to read and understand the same. Despite being under immense mental and emotional distress, I was coerced into signing such documents behind locked doors and though I’ve requested repeatedly, the contents of such documents have never been revealed to me.“Rani added, “I have been left to the mercy of a select few for survival. All this, in less than a month of my only son passing.”Earlier, BollywoodLife reported that Sunjay Kapur’s estate worth Rs 39,000 crore might be shared between his two sisters, Superna Motwane and Mandhira Kapur. Although this hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s known that Sunjay had a four-year-long dispute with Mandhira, which she later regretted. After Sunjay’s passing, his third wife, Priya Sachdev, was made the non-executive director of the company, and Jeffrey Mark took over as the new chairman.
