Traffic on the M5 in Worcestershire has been stopped in both directions due to a “police led incident”, according to National Highways.
The incident was first reported at about 13:00 GMT, with both carriageways shut between junction six, for Worcester, and five for Droitwich.
National Highways said drivers were facing delays of at least 80 minutes northbound and 60 minutes southbound.
An air ambulance has been deployed to the scene, alongside other emergency services.
