Police were attacked following a vigil in a Grimsby park, according to a senior officer.
Insp Pete Musgrave said officers were sent to the Grant Thorold Park area at about 17:30 BST on Monday to offer “reassurance” and “respond to any emerging issues swiftly”.
He said a group began to behave “antisocially”, with some officers sustaining minor injuries. Police vehicles were also damaged, the officer added. No arrests have been made.
Earlier in the day, a balloon release was held in memory of 18-year-old JP Perry who died on June 9, two days after a collision with a BMW on Heneage Road, Grimsby.
Insp Musgrave said: “Local officers began seeing people driving dangerously around the park, leading to a motorbike being seized.
“Following the vigil, a group of people then reportedly began to behave antisocially, including causing damage to police vehicles, leading to some officers sustaining injuries. Thankfully, these are not thought to be serious at this time.”
Insp Musgrave said a number of people suspected to have been involved in the disorder had been identified, but urged anyone with information to contact Humberside Police.
