VLF’s debut scooter for India, blending streetfighter styling with urban practicality.

There’s a new name in town, and it’s not one most riders will recognise. VLF — short for Velocifero — is an Italian outfit making its India debut with the Mobster 135, a petrol-powered scooter that’s trying to carve out space in one of the toughest two-wheeler markets on the planet. It arrives with sharp styling, a solid spec sheet, and plenty of tech designed to catch the eye of younger riders looking for something out of the ordinary.

Designed by Alessandro Tartarini, the Mobster 135 wears its streetfighter inspiration with pride. Its stance is low and aggressive, the bodywork muscular, and the surfaces angular — far removed from the rounded, family-friendly look that defines most Indian scooters. The Mobster comes in four bold shades — Crimson Override, Ash Circuit, Ghostlight, and Neon Venom — all of which play up its youthful, urban appeal.
The Mobster 135 is Powered by a liquid-cooled 125 cc engine that produces 12.1 hp and 11.7 Nm of torque. VLF claims a top speed of around 100 km/h and a mileage figure of roughly 46 km/l, making it both brisk and reasonably efficient. At 122 kg, the Mobster isn’t too heavy either, and its 155 mm of ground clearance should keep it usable in everyday Indian road conditions.
The 5-inch Bluetooth-enabled TFT display and full-LED lighting give the Mobster 135 a tech-forward edge.

Where the Mobster 135 makes its strongest case is with its features — and it’s got plenty. A 5-inch Bluetooth-enabled TFT display, dual-channel switchable ABS, traction control, keyless ignition, auto start/stop, dual gas-charged rear shocks, illuminated switchgear, and full-LED lighting make it one of the most tech-laden scooters in its class. It’s a feature list that wouldn’t look out of place on a much larger and pricier machine.
Motohaus India, the company bringing VLF into the country, has already started taking bookings in major cities such as Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Goa, and Ahmedabad, with deliveries slated to begin in November. The company claims to have secured over 1,000 bookings so far — an encouraging sign for a newcomer. A 4-year/40,000 km warranty and a year of complimentary roadside assistance come standard, which should help build some initial buyer confidence.

The Mobster 135 is entering a a fiercely competitive segment. Established players like Honda (HMSI), TVS, Yamaha, and Aprilia already have a firm grip on the performance scooter space, and now there’s an added challenge from new-age EV manufacturers like Ather and Ola, who are redefining what urban mobility looks like. For a relatively unknown brand like VLF, the real test will be building trust, ensuring reliability, and creating a service network that can stand up to these giants.
The VLF Mobster 135 is priced at ₹1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 2,500 units, after which it will retail at ₹1.38 lakh. It’s not the most affordable option around, but it certainly adds some much-needed spice to a scooter market that’s been playing it safe for far too long.
