JAIPUR: A 16-year-old boy, allegedly plotting to murder a gangster following a heated social media spat, was detained Monday with three illegal country-made pistols and live cartridges in the Kalwad area. DCP (West) Hanuman Prasad Meena said the juvenile was nabbed by a police team led by additional DCP (West) Alok Singhal and SHO (Kalwad) Kavita Sharma based on intelligence inputs. “We received a tip-off that a teenager was planning to murder a history-sheeter in Kalwad. He was traced and detained near the identified spot,” said Meena.The suspect, dressed in a white T-shirt and black jeans with a black backpack, was intercepted and searched. Police recovered three country-made pistols and three live cartridges from his possession.During questioning, the teenager told police he purchased the weapons for Rs 15,000 from Alwar. He claimed he was locked in an ongoing online feud with Bhupendra Singh, a history-sheeter from Kalwad, and intended to eliminate him. “He had conducted a recce and was waiting for the right opportunity to strike,” said Singhal.Police sources said the minor has a criminal record, including a case in Odisha linked to drug smuggling. He is also known for flaunting weapons and threats on social media. “He even has an AK-47 tattoo on his arm and uses his online presence to intimidate others,” said an officer.Police are now investigating how the weapons were procured and whether others are involved. A separate probe is underway to trace the Alwar-based supplier and check if the teen had links with any organised criminal group. “The minor was confident that he will kill the history-sheeter and would not be subjected to harsh punishment since he was a juvenile,” said Meena.
