A driver in Leeds was stopped by police after officers spotted a precariously balanced sofa on the car’s roof.
The seat was only being held in place by the passenger’s hand, according to West Yorkshire Police, with the vehicle pulled over on Kirkstall Road on Saturday.
The driver was given a fixed penalty notice, with the force joking: “Officers didn’t have to give chaise for longue when they spotted this car in traffic.
“Needless to say, this isn’t a safe or legal way to travel and puts other road users at risk.”
