NEW DELHI: Rohit Sharma’s form in IPL 2025 has been under the scanner, but signs of a slow, steady resurgence were visible on Thursday night at the Wankhede Stadium.
Coming into the match with scores of 0, 8, 13, 17, and 18, the Mumbai Indians stalwart finally looked like he was settling into rhythm, registering his highest score of the season — a brisk 26 off 16 balls — against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The veteran opener began with intent, striking three clean sixes and displaying flashes of the vintage Rohit fans have been waiting to see.
Timing, footwork, and placement — all seemed to align briefly.
It was a promising start to the 163 chase, but unfortunately, just as he was getting into his stride, Pat Cummins cut the innings short.
A harmless-looking full toss outside off saw Rohit play an elegant drive straight into the hands of Travis Head at cover.
