Spa masseur who sexually assaulted clients spared jail

A masseur who sexually assaulted five women during treatments at the luxury spa where he worked has been spared jail.

Ibrahim Ali, 36, assaulted the women, who had booked in for back and foot massages, at the Nirvana Spa in Sindlesham, Berkshire, in November and December last year.

Ali admitted the charges and was sentenced to two years in jail, suspended for two years, at Reading Crown Court on Monday.

Lawyer Shilpa Shah, from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), said: “These women should have been able to feel safe and relaxed during their treatments.”

The CPS said the women reported Ali made them take all their clothes off and put on paper underwear, even if they did not want to, the CPS said.

He then pulled the towel covering their bodies down lower than necessary and touched them inappropriately, it said.

All of the women reported Ali’s behaviour to staff at the spa, but when one of them went to the police in December 2024 an investigation was launched.

Ali was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.

He must undertake 40 days of rehabilitation and 150 hours of unpaid work, pay £500 in compensation to each of the five victims, and a further two victims who came forward after his conviction, totalling £3,500.

Ms Shah said: “Ibrahim Ali betrayed their trust, leaving them feeling distressed and violated.

“Ali’s actions were criminal and, as this case has shown, we will do all we can to secure justice for victims of sexual assault and abuse.”
