PA MediaSunderland fans have spoken of their elation at winning promotion to the Premier League after beating Sheffield United with a last-minute goal in the Championship play-off final.
The 2-1 result means the Black Cats are promoted to the top flight after eight years away.
More than 35,000 Black Cats fans descended on Wembley Stadium for the play-off final, with others watching from a fan zone in Sunderland city centre.
Some have already said they are looking forward to taking on the big players next season, including a derby against rivals Newcastle United.
Fans spoke of their delight to BBC Radio Newcastle.
Lee said: “Wow, wow, wow, I’m over the moon.”
Pip said: “They totally deserved it. Me, I’m going against doctors orders and going to party until someone carries me home.”
Steve said: “A fantastic achievement, credit to the manager for the substitutions.”
Speaking from Wembley, another fan, Maurice Jepson, said: “We’ll get 45, 46, 47,000 Stadium of Light every week. Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle.
“We’ll take them all on.”
Some of those at Wembley were families, with their love for the club spanning the generations.
Adam Stoker, there with his partner and their son and daughter, said: “It’s my son’s first time here – how spoilt is he!
“We can’t wait to play Newcastle again.”

Andrew Nockels, also there with his family, said: “I’m 41, it was my first time here at Wembley, just like it was for all my family.
“What an amazing day.”
Judith Burgess had a double reason to celebrate. She said: “Happy birthday to me!
“That moment where the goal was disallowed by VAR was absolutely blinding. We knew we had it from then.”
Nexus, operator of the Tyne and Wear Metro, offered congratulations on social media.
It runs trains to both the Stadium of Light and to St James’ Park, home to Newcastle United.
