Tailbacks after rush-hour crash closes A1(M) in Hertfordshire

Part of a motorway has been closed after a rush-hour crash.

The A1(M) has been shut in both directions from junction four for Hertford and Welwyn Garden City to junction five, Hertfordshire Police said.

The force urged drivers to avoid the area, in a social media post just before 08:00 BST.

Speed sensors and traffic cameras showed queues for several miles in both directions.
